ABC15 News JOCKS it all hard.

If you haven’t been to downtown Phoenix lately, you don’t know what you’re missing. The art and the food are amazing and now the fashion and the boutiques are catching up.

One of the new unique places making a name for itself in the downtown scene is Grandiose.

It was opened October 3rd 2008 by a couple of guys with a unique street wear style and an old school fondness of vinyl LPs and 45s.

So, Nelson and Andrew brought their boxes of records, men and women’s street wear clothing, fine art and lifestyle books together under one roof.

They moved into the Valley from San Diego and Chicago to make their dreams of combining their quirky styles and selling to other people who walk to the drum of their own beat.

Besides the beautiful weather and people, the pair was attracted to Phoenix because of it’s seemingly wide open market and hungry young and enthusiastic people looking for more street and “city” culture downtown.

If you are in downtown on First Friday, drop by Grandiose. You will want to stay and party all night.

Andrew pulls the LPs out of the jackets and spins for the crowds. Sure you could shop, but you’d rather the dance.

Andrew told me, they pride themselves on being diverse in culture, style music and thought, and that is the foundation they’ve set for their success.

Train Day.

So I woke up early and remembered today was the grand opening of the Metro Train that travels as far as East Mesa to Downtown Phoenix. The Crowd was a mix of Yuppie ass fools to Bums who just wanted a free ride back to DT Phoenix to pan handle all the rich people who thought the riding the train was better than Disney Land. The ride was kind of hectic seeing it was more crowded than a Japanese train on a Monday. Every stop had a lil festival going on with music (Banda+Counrty), food and that fake rock climbimg bullshit. But it was quick 15 min ride from Tempe to Phoenix which was a plus. If you're into pick pocketing are letting grandmas crab your ass now is the perfect time to jump on the train and get that "FREE" ride. Here are pics from my trip.

Chorizo got mad at a lil' girl for standing to close to the tracks. BOOOOOOOO!
